Joseph E. Schindler, 69 of Charlestown, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Schindler was born January 22, 1947 in Jeffersonville, IN the son of Leonard and Margaret McCartney Schindler. He was a welder by trade a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 9269 Father Baldwin Assembly and the Sellersburg American Legion Post.
Survivors include his son, Joe Schindler(Tera) of Louisville, KY; brothers, Michael Schindler of Dayton, OH, Lawrence Schindler( Ann) of Charlestown, IN and Martin Schindler of New Washington, IN; sisters, Margaret Ann White(Doug) of Cincinnati, OH, Christine Steinwedel(Bill) of Floyds Knobs, IN, Dorothy Lampe of Cincinnati, OH, Marilyn Jackson(Jerry) of Hanover, IN and Loretta Fenster(Gary) of Redlands, CA; granddaughter, Kathryn Plemmons. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Schindler and William Schindler; sister, Carolyn Ernstberger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Charlestown, IN with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.
