John Lewis Weddle, 85, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at his home.
He was born on March 15, 1928 to John and Georgia (Phillippi) Weddle in Clark Co., IN. He was a retired meat packer for Armour Meat Packing in Louisville, KY. He is a Marine Veteran of the Korean War, member of the American Legion Post 335, and a member of the Mt. Lebanon Presbyterian Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Clara Franklin, and Grace Franklin; brother, Albert Weddle.
Survivors include his wife, Verna “Marie” (Morrison) Weddle; daughters, Sue Weddle of Charlestown, IN, and Judy Moss (Jim) of Alexandria, KY; son, Chris Weddle of Jeffersonville, IN; brother, Ben Weddle of New Washington, IN; grandchildren, Shana Cress (Scott), Jonathan Moss, Brett Moss, Kelsey Moss, and Christopher Weddle; great-granddaughter, Penelope Rose Cress.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 2pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12pm to 8pm, and after 10am on Sunday.
