John A. Webb, 88 passed away on Saturday April 30, 2011 at St. Catherine Regional Hospital.
He was born on February 24, 1923 in Richmond, KY the son of James Alben and Bertha Mae Griffin Webb. Mr. Webb was retired from G.S.A. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville after 30 years and also was a Farmer. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, V.F.W. both in Charlestown, Army Veteran of W.W. II and an avid woodworker, fisherman and gardener.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Faye Webb; daughter, Sharon Madison(Joe), New Washington; son Ralph Webb(Twila), Otisco; sisters, Jeannetta Turner(Stanley), Charlestown, Betty Truesdell and Bonnie Budd both of Hanover; brother, Tim Webb, Charlestown; seven grandchildren, Donna, Doug, Tony, Billy, Crystal, Jennifer and Shawn; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Webb was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 11 AM at the Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown with burial in the Hibernia Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3 pm to 8 pm and after 9 am Tuesday until time of service. Expressions of Sympathy in memory of Mr. Webb may take form of donations to the Crusade for Churldren.
