Mr. Murphy passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010 at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 3, 1943 in Chester, Pennsylvania the son of John Lewis and Jessee Beasley Murphy Sr. He was a diesel mechanic, a member of the America Legion and Bonnie Sloan Port 28 and served in the US Army.
He was survived by his wife Sharon Ann Franklin Murphy of New Albany, IN; Daughter Donna Clubb (Brian) of New Albany, IN; sisters Rosetta Stumpf of Jacksonville, FL and Lonnie Freels of Louisville, KY; Brother Maurie Murphy; grandchildren Melvin Cooley JR. and Amanda Cooley.
