John Morgan Massie, Sr., 70, of Charlestown, went home to his Heavenly Father on
Monday, May 19, 2014.
He was born on March 4, 1944 to Morgan and Zee (Pulliam) Massie in Clark County, IN. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Progress Paint, was an avid golfer, and a rabid Kentucky basketball fan. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce (Williams) Massie; daughter, Lori Andrews (Ronnie) of Graham, NC; son, John Massie, Jr. (Christina) of Jeffersonville, IN; sisters, Effie Rush of Charlestown, IN, and Judy Vermilya (Herb) of Laurel Point, NC; brother, Randy Massie of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Elena and Jaxon Andrews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 2pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Hibernia Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm, and after 10am on Thursday.
