John Lewis Hooker, Jr., 80 of New Albany, IN passed away on Wednesday May 7, 2025, at his home.
He was born on November 2, 1944, in Madison, IN to John L. and Ruby Bruce Hooker. John was a retired production scheduler for Romas-Haas and enjoyed golfing, horse racing, chatting with his bird friend, “Rusty,” and spending time at his farm.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jo Neal Hooker.
Survivors include his daughter, Shelly J. Burdine, and her husband, Larry, of Louisville, KY; sister, Betty Singer of New Washington, IN; sisters-in-laws, Barbara Lothery of New Washington and Linda Jackson of Charlestown, IN.; and niece, Betty Lou Purlee of New Washington
Life Celebration Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
