John Leslie Gibbons, 53 of Scottsburg, IN passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at his home.
John was born April 19, 1961 in Clark County, IN the son of James Ruben and Jane Virginia Procter Gibbons. He was a former employee of MVM, Inc. who had contracts with the Department of State working at various American Embassies around the world. Mr. Gibbons also worked locally with Flow International in Jeffersonville as a Design Engineer. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran and in his personal life enjoyed working with his garden and flowers and his three Boston Terriers, Mia, Marla and Chesty.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Gibbons; Sisters, Susie Fetz of Marysville, IN, Gean Gibbons of Scottsburg, Kay Gibbons of New Washington, IN and Beverly Barajas of Carrollton, KY; brothers, Jim Gibbons of Merritt Island, FL, Steve Gibbons of Autryville, NC, Doug Gibbons of Otisco, IN, Stanley Gibbons of Jeffersonville, IN, Billy Gibbons of Georgetown, KY, Larry Gibbons of Autryville, NC and Ron Gibbons of Jeffersonville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Mark and Phillip Gibbons.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Beswick Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. and after 12 Noon Thursday until time of service.
