John Haas Barnes, 66, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 at Hampton Oaks in Scottsburg.
He was born on June 29, 1944 to Ernest Roberts and Carrie Price Barnes in Jeffersonville, IN, whom preceded him in death along with his adoptive father Norman Barnes. He was a retired salesman, and he loved doing oil paintings and cake decorating. He is preceded in death by his wife Marietta Barnes and his sister Janet Barnes.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Barnes of New Washington, IN and Jerry Barnes of Scottsburg, IN; daughter, Karmen Gonzales of Scottsburg, IN; brothers, Mark Roberts of Louisville, KY and Don Barnes of Loveland, OH; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 12pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1pm to 8pm and after 9am on Friday.
