Jimmy Lee Denney

Jimmy L. Denney 81 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.

Jimmy was born on February 23, 1943, in Webster County, Mississippi to James E. and Mary Elizabeth (Dunaway) Denney. He was a graduate of Hernando High School and Wood Jr. College in Mississippi and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He married Alma J. Pierce in April 1964.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 57 years, Alma, and siblings, Dene Carter, Bill Denney, and June Kinney.

He is survived by his son, William, and his wife Deanna, son, Derek, and his wife Andrea, grandson he and Alma raised, Hunter and his wife, Jessica; 7 grandchildren, Corey, Christian, Jamie, Tiffany, Haylee, Bradley, and C.J.; 6 great-grandchildren, Kenslee, Caprie, Ivan, Hendrix (Tuffy), LilliAnne, and Averie and a great-grandson on the way; siblings, George and wife, Marilyn, Margret Beard, Butch, John and his wife, Vicki, many adoring cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He also leaves behind his loving fur babies, Trixie & Duke.

Life Celebration Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Grayson Funeral Home with burial in Old Salem Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday and after 9:00 am on Saturday.
