Jimmie Wayne Rose 87 of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on Monday evening December 12 at Maple Manor Christian Home in Sellersburg, IN.
He was born on March 16, 1937, in Myers, Kentucky to Willie S. and Ruby Parsons Rose. Jimmie was a retired electrician from Louisville Cement and the former owner of Jim Rose Trucking. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Sellersburg Moose Lodge, VFW Post 1427 in Charlestown, American Legion Post 335 in Charlestown, and attended House of Refuge in Nabb, IN.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carrie Louise Rose and a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Thomasson.
Survivors include his children, Teresa Rose of Nabb, IN, Sandy Allen of Saluda, IN, Richard Rose of Otisco, IN and Penny Sullivan of Hanover, IN; stepchildren, William A. Curtis of Scottsburg, Wayne A. Curtis of Scottsburg, Larry P. Curtis of Taswell, IN and Roger D. Curtis of New Washington, N; sisters, Doyle Bussey of Jeffersonville, Patsy Rose of Jeffersonville, brother Donnie Rose of Dallas, TX. 24 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Life Celebration Services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with a burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maple Manor Christian Home for their excellent care and would like to have any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Maple Manor or Hosparus Health of Southern Indiana.
