Jerry M Scott

Jerry M. Scott, affectionately known as Mikey or Mike, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 4, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on June 24, 1957, Jerry's life was a testament to work, dedication, and a profound commitment to his family and faith.

Growing up on the Scott Dairy Farm in Hibernia, Jerry learned the value of hard work early on. His youthful days were filled with the responsibilities that came with farm life, shaping him into a man of resilience. Following the sale of the family farm, he pursued his passion by attending truck driving school. Jerry later became a skilled heavy equipment operator, a career he took great pride in and thoroughly loved. Despite his early retirement due to health issues, his work ethic and dedication remained an inspiration to those around him.

As a very private and thoughtful man, Jerry’s interactions were marked by his dry sense of humor, often leaving those around him with smiles and laughter that resonated with the phrase, “that was Mikey.” His strong faith guided him throughout his life, and he consistently put the feelings and needs of others before his own. Jerry’s kindness and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He was a beloved uncle to three beautiful boys, the middle of whom was honored by having his middle name passed down from his uncle Mikey. Family meant everything to Jerry, and the love he shared was a reflection of his generous and caring nature.

Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Holmes-Scott; his loving mother, Angeline Scott; his brothers, John (Lynnette) Scott, Wayne (Zana) Scott, and Tony Scott; sister, April Dawn Scott; as well as his cherished aunt, Mary Weber. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Scott; and his sister, Leah Christina Grimsley.

As we remember Jerry M. Scott, we honor his legacy of unwavering love, respect for hard work, and the warmth he imparted on everyone he encountered. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him deeply.
