Jerry Reece Mitchell, Sr., 75, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his home.
He was born on May 2, 1941 to Clarence and Novella (Johnson) Mitchell in Scottsville, KY. He was a retired maintenance mechanic for St. Catherine Regional Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Read, Dean, Bill, and Doug; sister, Novice.
Survivors include his wife the former Rita Bruner of Charlestown, IN; sons, J.R. Mitchell (Robyn) of Charlestown, IN, Jeff Mitchell of Charlestown, IN, and Troy Mitchell (Kami) of Sellersburg, IN; sister, Reba Lonas of Scottsville, KY; Grandchildren, Eryn, Jessica, and Hannah; great-grandson, Trayton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 2pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 1pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Monday.
