Jean Rae Knudtson, 78, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY following a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born on February 26, 1938 in Chester, South Dakota to Lester and Bernice Bloker. Early in her childhood they moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota where they farmed. She was a graduate of Grand Forks High School, and the University of North Dakota. She was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany, IN where she taught many years at the school, and enjoyed playing the organ. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Ardys Enright.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Knudtson of Charlestown, IN; daughter, Kjersti Milliner (Nick) of Charlestown, IN; son, Joel Knudtson of Newburg, IN; sisters, Aileen Layon (Eli) of El Centro, CA, Jeanette Cantrell (Jack) of Bakersfield, CA; granddaughter, Andrea Milliner of Sellersburg, IN; great-grandson, Cayden Milliner of Sellersburg, IN.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 1pm at the Grace Lutheran Church, 1787 Klerner Lane in New Albany, IN 47150. Visitation will begin on Thursday after 9am at the church with a private burial at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN. Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown handling the arrangements.
