Jaycee Douglas Davis, Sr., affectionately known as "Jaybird" and "Dago," passed away on October 18, 2025, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 20, 1967, in Scottsburg, Indiana, where he began a life characterized by hard work, dedication, and a profound love for his family.

For an impressive 22 years, Jaycee dedicated himself to his career in the Operators Union, where he was highly regarded for his commitment and skill. His professional journey was marked by a strong work ethic; he was known to go above and beyond, rarely missing a day of work—even when unwell. An OSHA certified Operator Engineer, Jaycee took deep pride in his profession and the impact it had on his life and his family.

Jaycee was not only a hardworking provider but also a devoted father and grandfather. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, making memories that will last a lifetime. Some of his most beloved moments included outings on his dune buggy and enjoying the great outdoors, whether it was hunting deer or cutting wood. His family recalls fondly how he went out of his way to take care of his kids, always striving to create joyful experiences for them.

His proudest accomplishments included joining the Labor and Operators unions, becoming a grandpa, and successfully getting his dune buggy operational. These milestones brought immense joy to his life and showcased his passion for both his work and family.

Jaycee leaves behind a legacy of love and hard work. He is survived by his devoted spouse, Agnes Davis, ex-wife Lisa Hoskins, and their children: Joshua, T.A., Jaycee Jr., Devlyn, and daughter, Tabatha Lynn Baird. He was also a proud grandfather to Dylan Patton, Kali and Kyra McDaniel, Jacei, and Isaiah Davis, who will undoubtedly carry on his spirit. He is further survived by his brother, George Davis (Tammy), along with sisters Vada Spear (Richard) and Linda Carol Cross (Kenneth), and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother, Maxine Davis; father, Roosevelt Davis Sr.; and brothers Roosevelt Davis Jr., Michael Davis, and Leonard Davis. Jaycee will be remembered fondly for his warmth, kindness, and the unwavering love he provided to his family.

Visitation will be at Grayson Funeral Home, 893 High Street, Charlestown on Friday, October 24 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with his funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM. Memories of Jaycee and messages of support for the family can be shared at www.GraysonFuneralHome.com.
