Jay Reid Schowe, 83, of New Washington died Wednesday January 8 2014 at Hampton Oaks Nursing Home in Scottsburg, IN. He was born on December 1, 1930 in Clark Co. Indiana to Reid and Bertha Bryan Schowe. He was a retired systems engineer for AT&T, a Naval Veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of River Valley Community Church in Madison, IN.
He is survived by his sons Ronald Schowe (Janice) of Chandler, AZ and Dana Schowe (Elizabeth) of Chadsford, PA, grandchildren David (Lorinda), Daniel, Jennifer, and Mara Schowe.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 15 at 1:00PM at the Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover, IN with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in New Washington, IN. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-8pm and on Wednesday beginning at 9am. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Schowe may take the form of donations to the New Washington High School Alumni Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 13, New Washington, IN 47162.
