Jane (Rankin) Walker

Jane Walker, 89, of Charlestown passed away on September 23, 2020 at her residence.  She was born on April 11, 1931 in LaGrange, KY to Norman and Goldene Whitesides Rankin.  Jane was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Charlestown and worked as a secretary. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Charlestown Democrat Club, the Charlestown Community Building Council, and the Charlestown Beautification Committee. She was also active in the Charlestown High School Alumni Association where she was a past recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award. Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughters; Susan R. Walker of Charlestown, IN and Laura R. Potts (Mark) of Louisville, KY; and her grandson Jacob Potts of Louisville, KY.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Red” Walker, son Brian D. Walker, her parents, and her brother Norman F. Rankin. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8:00 PM and again on Saturday beginning at 9:00 AM. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Charlestown High School Alumni Association.
