James "Jim" B. Cobb, Jr

James "Jim" Bradley Cobb, Jr, 80, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. He was born on June 30, 1939 to James and Lena McKeehan Cobb in Corbin, KY.

Mr. Cobb served his country honorably in the United States Navy for 6 years.  He retired from General Electric in Louisville after 35 years of service. Jim was an ordained minister with the First Church of God (Anderson, IN) and Pastored churches throughout Kentucky and Indiana.  Most recently he retired from Custer, KY First Church of God which was the first church he ever pastored in the 1970s.  Jim loved the Lord and spent his entire life pointing people to the Gospel.

He is preceded in death by his Father, James B Cobb, Sr.;  Mother, Lena M Cobb;  his first wife LaJuana Cobb; Daughter, Jamie L Stephens;  and Brother, Kenneth W Cobb.

James is survived by his wife, Paulette Cobb of Charlestown;  Sons, James (Lisa) Cobb of Louisville and Kenneth (Cathy) Cobb of Louisville;  Daughter, Beth (Joshua) Spencer of Charlestown;  Step-sons, Matthew (Farah) Smith of Georgetown, Mark Smith of Charlestown, and Richard (Nicole) Smith of Charlestown;  Son-in-Law, Troy Stephens of Charlestown, grandchildren:  Brian, Laura, Bradley, Sarah, Molly, Livia, Emily, Isabella, McKinley, and AnnaKate, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Due to Federal, State and Local mandates concerning the Coronavirus, Jim’s Funeral Service and Visitation will be Private.  The funeral service will be live-streamed on the website of Grayson Funeral Home, www.graysonfuneralhome.com on Friday April 24, 2020 at 2:00PM with burial to follow at Charlestown Cemetery.
