James Otis Stacy, 88, of Charlestown died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Health & Rehab in Sellersburg.
He was born on April 24, 1923 to Lloyd and Effie Caudill Stacy in Vicco, KY. Mr. Stacy was a Navy veteran of World War II a retired machinist for Rohm and Haas, and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Randy Stacy of Charlestown; companion, Lucille Carpenter of Charlestown; brothers, Skip Stacy of Riverside, CA and Denver Stacy of Bull Creek, KY; sisters, Ellamae Suffridge of Bullitt Co., KY, Thelma Day of Brooksville, IN and Susie Stacy of Hamilton, OH; grandchildren, Marshall, Damon and Brandy Stacy and great- granddaughter Aleah Stacy.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 335 and VFW Post 1427.
