James Raymond Kent

James Raymond Kent 88, of Sellersburg, IN passed away on Thursday April 29, 2021 at Lincoln Hills Healthcare in New Albany, IN.

He was born on December 14, 1932 in New Washington, IN to Ernest and Ruth Bates Kent.  He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, a retired employee of Ford Motor Company, a member of the North Charlestown Church of God, the New Washington Masonic Lodge # 167, York Rite Lodge # 27, American Legion Post 104 and he was a retired member of the United Auto Workers Union.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl Kent, Roy Kent and Harry Kent; sisters, Grace Ratts, Lula Johnson, Bertha Giltner, Ethel Plaskett, Cammie Seeley, Betty Farmer and Barbara Yount.

He is survived by his wife Delores Kent; daughter, Glenda Diane Kent of Elizabethtown, KY; step-daughters, Joan Webb of Sellersburg and Kaye Mathis of Sellersburg; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Life Celebration services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Grayson Funeral Home with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm on Tuesday and after 9:00 am on Wednesday.

Masonic Services will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday.
