James Fillmore Johnson, 77 of Otisco, IN passed away on Wednesday January 30, 2013 in Tampa, Florida. He was born on July 23, 1935 in Webster, KY to Otis and Gladys Norton Johnson.
Fillmore was a Navy veteran and a retired employee of Owens Illinois. He was also a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Charlestown, past president of Marysville-Otisco-Nabb Water Corp. and past president of the Gideon East Camp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Alice and Elizabeth, brothers; Charles and Billy and son-in-law Jeff Elliott.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years the former Norma J. Coulter, his children; Mark Johnson (LaDonna), Marsha Hensley (Randy) and Marketta Elliott, grandchildren; Melissa Fleenor (Brad), Janel Wilkins (Billy), Amber Jackson (Chad), Britni Johnson and Baxter Elliott and 8 great grandchildren, sisters; Jean Copeland, Rita Colvin, Mae Vetter and Carolyn Owens. Fillmore will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday February 6, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Charlestown with burial in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, IN. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
