Mr. Burgin passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at his home.
He was born on March 3, 1914 to James Berry and Jettie Runner Burgin in Van Buren, KY. He was a retired farmer and bus driver. He was a member of the Park Street Church of Christ in Charlestown. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Stephen Burgin, a son-in-law Roy Yount, Jr., daughter-in-law Agnes Burgin, and a grandson Ray Rose.
Survivors include his wife Opha P. Ruby Burgin of Charlestown, IN; sons; Charles Burgin (Shirley) of Nabb, IN, James Burgin, Jr. (Sylvia) of Nabb, IN, David Burgin (Elizabeth) of Borden, IN; daughters; Emogene Reis (Everett) of Nabb, IN, Phyllis R. Rose of Charlestown, IN; Brenda Yount of Scottsburg, IN; Freda King (Dick) of Independence, KY; brother; Homer Burgin of Louisville, KY; sisters; Exie Dadisman of Louisville, KY, Lydia Jackson of Cave City, KY, Evelyn Bates of Fredericksburg, VA, and Betty Kruse of Ontario, Canada; 23 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.
