Jackie (Popovich) Young

Jackie Young, 84 died Monday September 10, 2012 at River Crossing Assisted Living in Charlestown.

She was born on Sept. 5, 1928 in Hammond, IN to Eli and Anna Ulbrich Popovich.  She taught school for several decades at Pleasant Ridge and Jonathan Jennings Elementary Schools and a was member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer Ray Young and daughter Denise Young and a sister Jo Ann Tumbiolo.

Survivors include her son Scott (Mary) Young of Otisco, IN, dear friends Terri Keown of Sellersburg, IN and Jim & Carol Arnett of Charlestown and her beloved cat Rose.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 13, 2012 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9 a.m. on Thursday.
