Homer Madden

Mr. Madden, 87, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born on December 27, 1920 in Hazard, KY, the son of Charles Guy and Margaret Hardigree Madden who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son William Buddy Madden. Mr. Madden retired from the U.S. Corps of Engineers, served in U.S. Army during WW II, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Charlestown, IN.

He is survived by his wife Edna Combs Madden, Charlestown, IN; sons David E. Madden (Jackie), Charlestown, IN and Roy W. Madden (Debbie), Richmond, KY; brothers Ray Madden, Hamilton, OH and David G. Madden, Hillsborough, OH; sisters Etta Roy, Sapulpa, OK, Ruby Grigsby, Cincinnati, OH, and Sadie Hensley, Highland Heights, KY; grandchildren Michelle Madden Cantrell (Chet) and Scott Madden (Megan); great grandchild Eric Scott Madden.

Funeral services will also be held at Engle Funeral Home in Hazard, KY on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 at 2:00. Visitation will be held at Engle Funeral Home on Saturday from 6-9:00 PM and after 10:00 on Sunday.
