It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry “Hank” Hinton III, who departed this life on May 16, 2025 at U of L Hospital. Hank was born on March 16, 1979 in Louisville, KY to Danny Lee Hinton and Tammy Wheeler.
Hank grew up with a love and knowledge of cars and Great White Sharks. He loved fixing and detailing them. As he got older, his love for Legos developed and he could construct anything from animals, to Battleships. On weekends, you would find him at Aunt Dee and Uncle Bob's for a home cooked meal, a card game or two with Aunt Dee, or working on cars with Uncle Bob. Family time meant the world to Hank, so from a very early age, all of the cousins were together having sleepovers where there were countless laughs and memories made. We all grew up together, not as cousins, but as siblings.
His brother and sister have the fondest memory during the blizzard of 96 while living in Virginia. The 3 of them spent hours building an igloo and ran an extension cord through the house and hooked up the kitchen tv. They spent hours in that igloo laughing and wondering if their parents even knew.
Hank was a "Fighter" and true definition of the word HERO in all aspects of his short life. He fought hard after his birth due to being born a preemie. He fought in Iraq and attached to the 101st Airborne Division which made him an American HERO, and he left this life a HERO, being an organ donor.
Hank leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish the many memories made in such short amount of time. He is survived by his loving wife, Allie; his children Gannon and Micah; his mother who raised him and loved him as her own Judy Hinton; his sister Haley Harshbarger (Elijah) who bonded with Hank with their love of boy band music; brother Trey Hinton (Melissa) who he would ride bikes with growing up until the street lights came on; his aunts and uncles; and the cousins (siblings) all who are going to miss him dearly.
Hank is preceded in death by his father, Danny Lee Hinton who Hank always said was his HERO, and his son Danny Lee Hinton II. What an "AMAZING" reunion that must have been.
Hank's life impacted so many. He was that funny guy with an amazing laugh and a heart of gold and he LOVED being a big brother. The world has lost a kind soul.
