Helen Louise (Krause) Thomas

Helen Louise Thomas, 87, of Charlestown passed away Monday May 30, 2011 at her residence. She was born on May 14, 1924 to Karl and Thelma Krause in Traverse City, MI. Helen was a graduate of Brownwood, TX High School and attended Julliard School of Music. She was a bank teller in Brownwood until her marriage on June 2, 1947 to Eugene A. Thomas. She was a member of Charlestown First Baptist Church and was active in the church’s music, children’s and special needs children ministries and a member of the Red Hat Runabouts, Charlestown, Gideon’s International, Charlestown Senior Citizens, volunteer at St. Catherine Regional Hospital. Survivors include her, daughter, Terry Flowe(William David), Charlestown; grandchildren, Karie Jewell, Richards, NC, Kimberly Moses, Louisville and William Daniel Flowe, Charlestown; great-granchildren, Johnny and William Dean Cook, LCP Bryan, David Allen and Kayleigh Ann Jewell, William James Flowe; great-great-grandchild, Ezra Allen Jewell; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Eugene A. Thomas; sons, Ronnie A., Richard G. and infant Todd Thomas; brothers, Robert (Bob) and Edward Carl Krause. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Charlestown First Baptist Church with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. on Thursday at the Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown and after 12:00 Noon Friday at the church. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to Relay for Life or First Baptist Church Building Fund.
