Helen Ruth Masingo, 93 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the University of Louisville Hospital.
Mrs. Masingo was born January 13, 1923 in Elcomb, KY, the daughter of Andrew and Ida Mae Fannon Johnson. Helen was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Charlestown, was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and cook.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Weedin and her husband Les of Salem, IN; sons, William “Butch” Masingo and his wife Sylvia of Charlestown, IN,
Robert Masingo and his wife Saundra of New Albany, IN; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous other devoted family members. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Floyd Lester Masingo in 1992, brothers, Andrew Jr., Billy Ray and Wilburn Herbert Johnson; sister, Mattie Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the Church until the time of services.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Masingo may take the form of donations to the Pleasant Ridge Church Clothing Ministry.
