Hazel K. Baxter 81 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Maple Manor Christian Home in Sellersburg, IN.
Hazel was born on February 18, 1933 in Campbellsburg, KY. the daughter of Hubert and Josie Pyles Adams. She was active in the former Assembly of God Church in Charlestown, IN as a teacher and loved her family and serving her church.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce DeVary(Jerry L.) of Charlestown; sisters, Geneva DeVary of Charlestown, Lois Marshall and Betty Grays both of Madison, IN and Thelma Jackson of Campbellsburg, KY; grandchildren, Lisa Wilt and Jessica Ledbetter; great-grandchild, Ainsley Wilt. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jessie Baxter Jr., sons Larry Wayne and James P. Baxter and four sisters, Dottie, Georgie, Jenny and Della.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in memory of Hazel to the American Diabetes Association.
