Haskel "Hack" L. Melton

Mr. Melton, 90, of Charlestown died Wednesday April 1, 2009 at St. Catherine Hospital in Charlestown.
He was born on October 12, 1918 in Bow, KY the son of Blane and Nan Vaughn Melton who preceded him in death. He was retired from Jeff Boat in Jeffersonville, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, attended the First United Methodist Church in Charlestown. He was a member of the Charlestown American Legion Post #335 and the Charlestown V.F.W. Post #1427.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Melton; daughters, Charlotte Phillips and her husband Jim "Tree", Charlestown, Janice Rowland and her husband Phil, Lawrenceville, GA, Debbie Tackett and her husband Bill, Sellersburg, IN and Tina Edmonds and her husband Darrell, Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death besides his parents by two grandchildren Lauren and Kayla Stewart.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Grayson Charlestown Funeral Home. Visitation will be held after 9 A.M. Saturday until time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of Sympathy in memory of Mr. Melton may be made to the American Cancer Society.
