Harold Edward Whalin, 83, of Charlestown, IN died Friday August, 14 2009 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
He was born on October 7, 1925 in Bowling Green, KY the son of Carter Edward and Eunice Frances Jones Whalin. He worked as a photo engraver and was a retired employee of the Louisville Courier-Journal.
He is survived by his wife Lucy R. Powell Whalin, son John E. Whalin of Charlestown, sister Betty Harrington of Charlestown, grandchildren David Gibbs, Michael Gibbs, John Gibbs, Jason Whalin, and Matthew Whalin, and great grandchildren: Blake Gibbs, Ryan Whalin, Hayden Whalin, and Kye Stone. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathy Gibbs.
