Mr. Townsend passed away Friday, December 21, 2007 at Lincoln Hills Nursing Home in New Albany. He was a native of Dallas, TX an Army Veteran of WWII, a retired pipe fitter, and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann West Townsend; son D. Douglas Townsend; daughter Flo A. Whitaker; brother Kenneth Townsend; Grandchildren Brian, Derek and Cullen Jones, David Whitaker, Brad and Donald Townsend, Barbara Caballero; great-grandchildren, Kelan, Eden and Elijah
