His family owned and operated Conks Drive-in and Truck Stop on Highway 62 where he met his wife of 67 years, Frances Abby Smith. Harlo served in the Indiana National Guard in the 1950’s. Harlo and Frances retired in 2006. They moved from their longtime home in Charlestown to Sellersburg, IN, in 2015.
