Granville Barney Daniels

Granville Barney Daniels, 95 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.

Granville was born November 12, 1922 in Trenton, GA to Grant and Martha (Gain) Daniels and had two brothers and four sisters. As a young man, Granville moved to eastern Kentucky to work in the coalmines before accepting a job with International Harvester in Louisville, KY in 1949. In his first couple of months in the Louisville area, he met the love of his life, Louisa Jane Wynn, and in 1950 they were married. In 1952 Granville would spend nearly the next two decades serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as the pastor of a small church in Louisville. In 1982, Granville retired from International Harvester, accumulating 32 years of service. Granville enjoyed his retirement and lived his life to the fullest by spending time with family and serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his daughters, Naomi Davidson(Rex) of Clarksville, IN and Charlotte Daniels of New Albany, IN; sons, Orville Daniels and David Daniels both of Charlestown; sisters, Evelyn Dyke of Rossville, GA and Marie Cunningham of Ringold, GA; grandchildren, Brad Davidson(Ashton), Cody and Kelsey Davidson, Tim Lynch, Kristin, Amy and Sarah Medcalf; great-grandchildren, Autumn, Kaylee and Isaac Barry, Addi, Will, Cooper and Georgia Davidson. Granville was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Louisa Jane Daniels in 1999, son Herman Ray Daniels in 2014, brothers, Leonard and Grant, sisters, Maxine and Ann.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday until the time of service.
