Mr. Adkins died April 15, 2007 at the Britthaven South of Louisville, KY. He was a Machinist and a Ordained Minister of the Old Regular Baptist Church and also a member of the Ivy Hill Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Ida Mae (Peggy) Adkins, son, Glen J. (Mary) Adkins, daughters, Anna (Eddie) Moore, Teresa Adkins, Sandra (Stanley) Beld, brothers, Clinard and Kedrick Adkins, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild
