Gladys B. Collins, 88, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015 at her home.
She was born on September 26, 1927 to Holbert and Ester (Moore) Brewer in Pennington Gap, VA. She was a retired general merchandise manager for Kroger in Jeffersonville, IN. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, baking deserts, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ruth Fling, Mary Sam Elza; brothers, Ezra, and Ed Brewer.
Survivors include her husband, Elbert H. Collins; daughters, Patty Shrebtienko (David) of Sellersburg, IN, and Teresa Wimsatt (Tony) of Charlestown, IN; sister, Jean Brendle of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, Trace Wimsatt, Brian Wimsatt, Jimmy Benson, and Missi Nolan; great-grandchildren, Maggie, Isabel, Zachary, and Alana.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 1pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with entombment to follow in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 6pm to 8pm, and after 11am on Friday till the time of service.
Expression of sympathy can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
