Gilbert Leonard Hardesty

Gilbert Leonard Hardesty, 72 of Lexington, IN passed away on Thursday June 3, 2021 at his home.

He was born on August 2, 1948 in Fort Wayne, IN to Walter Irvin Hardesty, Sr and Betty Jane Syndrum Hardesty.  He was a retired welder for Marine Builders in Utica, IN and a member of the Beacon Missionary Baptist Church in Charlestown.

Gilbert was a huge Indiana University fan and was preceded in death by his parents, son Bobby Littrell, daughter, Kimberly Littrell, brother, Keith Hardesty and sister, Kathy Hardesty.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Fraze Hardesty; daughters, Krystal Hurley of Fort Wayne, IN, Monica Hardesty of Tyler, Texas, Cassey Littrell of Charlestown, Denise Littrell of Lexington and Michelle Littrell of Jeffersonville, IN; brothers, Walter Hardesty, Jr (Tammy) of Fort Wayne, Kenny Hardesty of Fort Wayne, Wayne Hardesty of Michigan and Ricky Hardesty of Fort Wayne; sister, Tina Hardesty of Fort Wayne; 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and his best friend Lyle.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 8, 2021 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Bunker Hill Cemetery near Henryville, IN.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
