Gid Fields

Gid Fields, 83 of Otisco, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Thornton Terrace in Hanover, IN.

He was born on July 18, 1940, in Letcher County, KY to Robert and Levi Fields.  He was a member of Otisco Community Church and a retired machinist for Republic Industries in Louisville, KY.  He was preceded in death by his wife Priscilla Fields on December 31, 2023, and 23 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Croucher (John) of Charlestown, IN and Melissa Evans of Arizona; son, Charles B. Murphy of Jeffersonville, IN; siblings, Mary Collins (Ted) of Whitesburg, KY, Kathleen Cornett (Jimmie) of Cumberland, KY, David Fields of Ocala, FL; grandchildren, Polly May Croucher, America Evans, Ethan Murphy (Brittney), Parker Evans, and Summer Evans; great-grandson Emmett Jeffrey, step-children that he raised Delores, Garry, and Terry Alcorn.

Life Celebration Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Barnes Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday.
