Mr. Oakley was born on Feb. 8, 1945 in Paxton, IL the son of Hugh and Edna Brooks Oakley and passed away on Monday December 1, 2008 at Veterans Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was a mechanic for Traders Auto World in Charlestown and Army, Air Force and Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of the American Legion Post 335 and the VFW Post 1427 in Charlestown.
He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Oakley of Clarksville, IN and Wendy Lutz of Charlestown; sons Aaron Oakley of Clarksville and William Oakley of new Salisbury, IN; brother Danny Oakley of Charlestown and sisters, Wanda Bower of New Washington and Patricia Nofsinger of Horse Cave, KY and eight grandchildren.
