George Washington Waters, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his home.
He was born on August 10, 1925 to Andrew and Goldie Reed Waters in New Washington, IN. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a retired security guard for the Old ICI Americas, a former insurance agent, the New Washington Justice of Peace, and was the former Charlestown City Court Judge. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 335, VFW Post 1427, New Washington Masonic Lodge #167, and a member of the Indiana Judicial Association.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Young Waters; sons, George E. Waters of New Washington, and David A. Waters of New Washington, IN; step-son, Jeremy Meredith of Charlestown, IN; 5 Grandchildren, 5 Step-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm, Friday, 12pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Saturday. Military services will be provided by the American Legion Post 335 and the VFW Post 1427.
