George Nathan Sumpter

George Nathan Sumpter, 81 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Saturday August 18, 2018 at Kentuckian Medical Center in Clarksville, IN.

He was born on May 26, 1937 in Ewing, VA to Brent and Hattie Ayres Sumpter.  He was a retired member of the United States Military and a lifetime member of both the American Legion Post 335 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1427 both in Charlestown.

George is survived by his wife Gayla Corbin Sumpter; brother, Pat Sumpter of Richmond, KY; sisters, Pam Sumpter of Salem, IN, Brenda Sumpter of Salem, IN and Opal Sumpter of Michigan.

Cremation was chosen and A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Charlestown American Legion at 12 pm on Friday August 24, 2018.
