George Wesley Dodson, 70 passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 at St. Catherine Regional Hospital in Charlestown.
He was born August 15, 1941 in Breckenridge County, KY the son of Claude and Eva Mae Dodson. He was a retired Truck Driver for Victory Freight and Dispatcher for Keyoil Trucking and a part-time security guard with Murray Security.
Mr. Dodson was a member of House of Refuge Church in Nabb, IN, Jeffersonville Masonic Lodge #340, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Valley of Louisville, Kosair Shrine in Louisville, Tri-County Shrine and loved playing music.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis Evans Dodson; sons, Doug Dodson(Cindy), Cincinnati, Dion Dodson(Carrie), Louisville; step-children, James Disponett(Gayle) and David Disponett(Regina) both of Clarksville, IN, Tina McCoy, Jeffersonville and Dusty Standiford(Tosha), Otisco; sisters, Dorothy Huffman, Louisville, Ruby Blankenship(Fred), Rhodelia, KY and Brenda Morgan, Brandenburg, KY; brother, Charles Dodson, Orlando, FL; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Dayna Dodson and brother-in-law Bob Huffman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. and Tuesday from 11 A.M. to 8 P.M. and after 9 A.M. Wednesday until time of service.
