Mr. Holmes, a native of Morgan Co., AL was a retired carpenter, navy veteran and member of the First Baptist Church in New Washington. Survivors include two sons, Nathan and Michael Holmes; a daughter, Teresa Scott, four brothers and three sisters, 4four grandchildren and two great grandchildren
