Gary W. Moore, 68 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday September 2, 2016 at The Historic Village of Silver Crest in New Albany, IN.
Gary was born on September 27, 1947 in Charlestown to Crockett Moore and Barbara Dickason who preceded him in death. He worked as a Service Representative for Indiana Bell Telephone, attended Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky School of Barbering and barbered locally for several years and served as a Charlestown City Councilman for 9 ½ Years. Gary was a Christian who served on the Board of Deacons at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and was a recipient of the Charlestown High School Distinguished Alumni Award.
Survivors are his wife the former Lisa Seeders of Jeffersonville, IN; daughters, Melissa Crider (Michael) of Charlestown and Jennifer Moore of San Diego, CA; granddaughters, Haley Vaughn (Noah) and Morgan Crider, step-mother Oreta Moore of Charlestown; step-sisters, Jewell Bradley of Wisconsin, Jan Thomas of Florida and Connie Rhodes of Charlestown.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, and after 10 am on Wednesday at the church.
