Gary W. Holmes, 61 of Charlestown passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
Gary was born on January 28, 1952 in Clark County, IN the son of Wade and Mary V. Griffin Holmes. He worked for Mann Construction Co. in Louisville, KY and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and an avid Indiana University Basketball fan.
Survivors include his daughters, Mary Goforth(Chris) of Charlestown, Hannah Matthews of Scottsburg and Jennifer Matthews of Sellersburg; son, Gary James Holmes(Kerri) of Nabb; father, Wade Holmes of Jeffersonville; brothers, Larry Holmes and Chris Holmes both of Charlestown; grandchildren, Justin, Scott, Tyler, Bradley, Emily, Khloe, McKenna, Diesel and Remy; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Melody and Carter. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary V. Holmes and brother, Steve Holmes.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Monday until time of service. Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of donations to the Holmes Family.
