Fred L. Johnson, 68 of Charlestown passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at New Albany Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Fred was born on July 19, 1947 in Tampa, FL the son of Bernard Johnson and Fleeta Collins. He worked for J & J Mechanical, University of Louisville Hospital and Jeff Boat, as a Pipe-Fitter, Plumber and Welder. Fred was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a collector of many things. He was a man who could build about anything and when he had time he enjoyed going fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife of almost 37 years, Judy Robertson Johnson; daughters, Ami Lynn Johnson-Rodgers and her husband Jason of New Albany, IN and Jennifer DeHart and her husband Jeffrey of Louisville, KY; sister, Vickie Richardson of South Carolina; grandchildren, Danielle, Melanie, Kamron, Thomas, Ashlyn, Kelsey and Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Friday until the time of services.
