Frank Andrew Fisher, 51, died December 5, 2012, at the Fisher Farm in Nabb, Indiana. His sudden death occurred while he was working on the farm, which has been in the Fisher family for more than 100 years. Fisher was born May 11, 1961, in Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Beth Walden Fisher. They were married on May 31, 1991, in San Marcos, Texas. He also is survived by a son, Emory, 11, daughter, Rachel, 11; parents, Frank Fisher Jr. and Eileen (Pat) Scanlon Fisher; sister, Anne Fisher McDaniel, brother-in-law, Timothy McDaniel, niece, Maggie McDaniel, and nephew Jack McDaniel, all of Houston.
Fisher is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. Before moving to the family farm, he pursued a career in the technology industry, which included positions with both IBM and Apple. Although he continued his interest in technology after moving to the farm helping friends and neighbors with their computer problems, his first love was farming.
His love of farming was surpassed only by his love of family and parenting. A loving husband and devoted parent, he believed that parenting the twins was his most important and rewarding job.
Kind and with a wry sense of humor, Fisher was steadfastly loyal to his life-long friends. He believed in the equality of all people, treating each person he met with the respect and grace, he believed every human being deserved.
Fisher was an active member of the Salem Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed politics and worked as a volunteer on many Democratic campaigns.
A memorial service will be held at Madison Presbyterian Church in Madison, Indiana, on Monday, December 10, at 2 p.m. under the direction of Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with Rev. Don Summerfield and Rev. Susan McGhee officiating. Visitation with the family will follow immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be sent to Camp Pyoca, the Presbyterian encampment in Brownstown, IN or Pope John Elementary School in Madison.
