Frances Jewell "Meme" (Bentley) Caudill

Frances Jewell “Meme” Bentley Caudill, 92 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Tuesday July 27, 2021, at her home.

She was born on August 16, 1928, in Whitesburg, KY to Jesse and Lillian Holbrook Bentley.  Jewell was a member of the Charlestown Independent Church, Eastern Star Chapter #597, and the Joy Club.  Her hobbies included sewing, reading, quilting and cooking.

Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Verdell Caudill whom she married on June 12, 1946; her brother, Alfred Bentley; her sister, Audrey Bentley and her brother-in-law, Irvin Frazier; and her longtime companion, Joe Benge.

Jewell is survived by her son, Roger Caudill and his wife Debbie of Lorida, FL; grandchildren, Angela Guerin of Fort Pierce, FL, Melissa Ziegler and her husband Mark of Port St. Lucie, FL, Roger Caudill and his wife Tracy of Ft. Pierce, FL and Eleanor Burgher and her husband Eric of Atlanta, GA; her sisters Lavanelle Frazier of Charlestown and Janice Collier and her husband Paul of Charlestown; great grandchildren, Madison Caudill, Lillian Guerin, Baby Burgher, Audrey Bell, Adam Ziegler and Josh Britcher; great great grandchildren, Cambria Harvey and Addison Britcher.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday August 2, 2021 at Grayson Funeral Home with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 pm  to 5:00 on Sunday and after 9:00 am on Monday.
