In Memory Of
Forrest C. May, 91 of Charlestown, IN, passed away Thursday evening, May 7, 2015, at Kentuckiana Medical Center.
Mr. May was born on January 30, 1924, in Loretta, KY, the son of George and Florence Penn May. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years as a Mail Carrier with the Marysville, IN post office. He was a World War II Army Veteran, an appointed Kentucky Coronel by former governor of Kentucky, Julian Carroll, for his participation on Omaha Beach on D-Day. Dad was a faithful Christian and a member of the Park Street Church of Christ in Charlestown.
Survivors include his daughters, Collette Powell(Bob) of Marysville, IN and Connie Johnson(John) of Shepherdsville, KY; son Dennis May(Jackie) of Brandenburg, KY; grandchildren, Troy Powell, Tabitha Sexton, Rebecca Varadan and Kristin Hebner; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Kayla, Aaron, Abigail, Justice, Maddie, Ava and Sophie; soon to be great-great-granddaughter, Kennedy Jo. Mr. May was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 64 years, Gladys Simpson May, three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday until time of services.
Our father faced his journey with the dignity and grace he always exhibited daily in his life. Everyone that knew our Dad, knew that he indeed, walked with God. Rest In Peace Sweet Daddy!
