Forest Eugene “Oofie” Montgomery, 59, of Columbia, SC, and formerly of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his home.
He was born on February 20, 1957 to Carl “Pete” and Pearl (McKim) Montgomery in Clark Co., IN. He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, and retired from Pespi. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carl Montgomery, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Bridget Montgomery of Columbia, SC; sons, Forest Montgomery, Jr. of SC, Jesse Montgomery of SC, and Ryan Johnson of SC; daughters, Sara & Danielle Montgomery of SC; sisters,
Melinda Baker of Lanesville, IN, Becky Montgomery of Charlestown, IN, and Tami Shelton of Charlestown, IN; 4 Granddaughters.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 1:30pm at the Charlestown Cemetery, and there will be a gathering of friends and family immediately following the graveside services at the Charlestown VFW Post #1427. Grayson Funeral Home handling arrangements.
