Mrs. Ames passed away Monday, June 9, 2008 at Sellersburg Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 8, 1916 in Clark County, Indiana the daughter of Raymond Lewis and Ethel Fern Lewis Stratt who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Ames; sister, Dorothea Jenkins; and a son James Lewis Hammond. Mrs. Ames was a former employee of I.C.I. and a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Bill Hammond, Charlestown; grandchildren, James Bradley Hammond and Lisa Puffin; four great-grandchildren and one nephew, Donald Lou Jenkins, Charlestown.
