Floyd 'Ralph' Day

Floyd "Ralph" Day, 89, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026. Ralph was a professional collector, he loved a great bargain, yard sale finds, tinkering, fishing, collecting coins, knives, and any ole junk he found. Ralph enjoyed making potato cakes, soup bean cakes, cornbread, and even made better scrambled eggs than Elsie! His quick wit, constant short melody of a song, and prankster sense of humor will be missed by all.

He was born on May 25, 1937, in Dongola, Kentucky to Elbert and Laura Wampler Day. He is preceded in death by his Wife of 69 years, Elsie Day, son, Ricky Allen Day. His siblings James, Paul, Curtis, Mildred, Lee, Rachel, Charles, Gertrude, Carl, Ronald, and Jean.

Ralph is survived by his daughters, Patty (Doug) Wood, and Pamela (Tim Thorpe) Day, daughter-in-law, Shelia Day, grandchildren, Jeremy (Melissa) Day, Jeff (Amanda) Day, Nikki (David) Miller, Danni (Aaron) Oakley, Miranda (Darren) Taylor, and Zack (Kagan Jenkins) Wood; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Grace, Theona, Rylee, Logan, Karlee, Kassius, Rikkee, Leola, Mason, and Murphy.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Grayson Funeral Home - Charlestown Chapel, (893 High Street) and again on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm also at the funeral home.
